We are Forth City Institute. And no, we did not misspell “Forth.” The name “Forth City,” inspired by founder Nolan Sharkey, is a double-entendre which emphasizes St. Louis’ former claim as America’s fourth-largest city, as well as the urge to move forward, to go forth into the twenty-first century and attempt to restore St. Louis to its former glory while addressing the many issues perpetuating its financial and population losses
Our Mission Statement is simple, but ambitious: Forth City Institute is a regional, not-for-profit think tank focused on proffering research, propagating education, and organizing community-outreach activities that improve the quality of life for the citizens of the St. Louis region through a viable, progressive policy model.
Forth City Institute relies on reader-submitted articles. We want to hear from the community on what they think will better their St. Louis. We are constantly looking for 500 – 1,500 worded articles that are professionally researched (APA citations) and address issues facing St. Louis. As a progressive think tank, we prioritize articles that offer progressive solutions to St. Louis issues, but we are not afraid of publishing professionally written, conservative articles.
Feel free to email your articles to nolan.sharkey@forthcitystl.org
